Competition rules
These rules are authoritative. Where a scoring decision is disputed, the official competition data provider's final record is used.
Overview
- £100 first prize for the overall winner
- Free to play
- Max one defensive & one attacking player per club
- No captains, chips or block defenses
- Scouting bonus: Back the players nobody else spots. Any pick scoring five or more base points in a match earns +3 when owned by 10% or less, +2 above 10% up to 20%, or +1 above 20% but below 50%, using the ownership snapshot locked and published at the end of each gameweek, Thursday 23:59. You can transfer a player in after the lock and still earn their scouting bonus, as long as you own them before kickoff.
- Eleven that all count: No bench, no captain, no chips. Every player you pick scores every single match.
- Fifty transfers: Use them whenever you like. They take effect immediately and cannot be undone.
- Three competitions: Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup, each with its own leaderboard column.
- No player valuations: There are no prices and no budget. Selection is decided by club limits alone: one goalkeeper or defender and one midfielder or forward from each club.
Free-to-play season
- Entry is free. No entry fee is charged and no payment details are collected.
- Registration is open to everyone. You must verify control of your email address; no invitation code is needed.
- Each account may hold one official fantasy team this season.
- Duplicate accounts, account sharing, proxy management and automated entry are prohibited.
- Teams begin scoring only after activation, and points are never awarded retrospectively.
- Entries may remain open during the season; late entrants start on zero with all 50 transfers.
- A £100 first prize is offered for the winner of the overall table, funded personally by the site organiser and not from any entry fee.
- Administrators may correct inaccurate fixture or scoring data.
- Administrators may suspend duplicate or abusive accounts, giving a reason.
- Participants may report errors or appeal a suspension using the in-app feedback form.
- All existing squad, transfer and scoring rules below remain in force.
Your squad
- Exactly 11 players, all of whom score every match. There is no bench, no captain and no chips.
- Formation must be 1 goalkeeper, 3–5 defenders, 3–5 midfielders and 1–3 forwards.
- There are no player prices and no budget this season.
- Choose exactly 11 players. You may select up to two players from each club: one goalkeeper or defender, and one midfielder or forward.
- A goalkeeper and a midfielder from the same club are allowed.
- A defender and a forward from the same club are allowed.
- A goalkeeper and a defender from the same club are not allowed.
- A midfielder and a forward from the same club are not allowed.
- Three players from the same club are never allowed.
Entry and activation
- Your team scores nothing until it is activated. Activation requires a verified email address and a valid squad.
- Points are only awarded for fixtures that kick off strictly after your activation time.
- Team names must be unique within a season and are subject to moderation.
Transfers
- You get 50 transfers for the season. One transfer is one player out and one player in.
- Transfers take effect immediately and are not reversible.
- The resulting 11 must still satisfy every squad rule, including both club restrictions.
- A player transferred out keeps the points from any fixture that had already kicked off.
- A player transferred in scores only from fixtures that kick off after the transfer.
- Using more than three transfers in a single gameweek rules your team out of that gameweek's medals and any prize awarded for that week. Your points and league position are unaffected.
Competitions counted
- Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup only.
- European competitions, international matches and friendlies do not score.
- Separate leaderboards are kept for each competition plus an overall table.
Match scoring
- Starting appearance +2, substitute appearance +1.
- Goal +5, assist +3.
- Yellow card −1, red card −3, own goal −3, missed penalty in normal play −2.
- Goalkeeper: ordinary saves score nothing, penalty save +5.
- Clean sheets are for goalkeepers and defenders only: midfielders and forwards never score clean-sheet points.
- Clean sheets are player-specific: only goals conceded while that goalkeeper or defender is on the pitch count. +5 when they play 60 minutes or more without conceding while on the pitch, otherwise +2.
- Goals conceded before a goalkeeper or defender comes on, or after they are substituted off, never remove their clean sheet.
- A goalkeeper or defender sent off continues to be charged with goals conceded for the rest of the match, which may remove their clean sheet.
- Extra time counts. Penalty-shootout goals never affect clean sheets.
- Goalkeeper or defender goals conceded: −1 for every goal after the first conceded while on the pitch.
- Tackles do not score.
- Match statistics and fantasy points are updated once a night at 11:00pm UK time; points are not updated live during matches.
- A match still in progress at 11:00pm is scored at the next nightly update, and later provider corrections are applied automatically.
Penalty shootouts
- Successful shootout penalty +2, unsuccessful shootout penalty −1.
- Goalkeeper +2 for a shootout save, awarded only where the goalkeeper touched the ball.
- Shootout goals never count as goals and never affect clean sheets.
- Retaken or invalidated attempts score nothing; only the final valid attempt counts.
Scouting bonus
- A player added to the eligible pool after the Thursday lock has an official ownership of 0% for that period — this is not missing data. They can be transferred in immediately and receive the +3 scouting bonus if they score at least five base points, then appear normally in the next Thursday snapshot.
- Player ownership is calculated and published at the end of each gameweek, Thursday at 23:59 UK time. The published percentages remain fixed until the end of the following gameweek.
- You may use the published ownership figures when making transfers. A player does not need to have been in your fantasy team at the weekly ownership lock. You receive the player's full fixture score, including any scouting bonus, provided you own the player before the fixture kicks off.
- A player who scores at least five base fantasy points in an eligible match receives a scouting bonus based on the locked ownership percentage.
- 10% or below: +3 points.
- Above 10% up to and including 20%: +2 points.
- Above 20% but below 50%: +1 point.
- 50% or above: no scouting bonus.
- The tiers are non-cumulative. A player receives only one scouting bonus per fixture.
- Worked example: a player is shown at 9% ownership on Thursday evening. You transfer the player into your team on Friday before their Saturday kickoff. The player scores seven base points. You receive ten points: seven base points plus a three-point scouting bonus.
- Displayed percentages are rounded; the exact unrounded figure always decides the tier.
- The bonus is added to the base points, never multiplied.
Prizes and titles
- The winner of the overall table receives a £100 first prize, funded personally by the site organiser. Entry remains free and no entry fee funds any prize.
- The prize is paid by bank transfer to the winner within 30 days of the final standings being confirmed, once eligibility is checked.
- Where the overall table is tied at the top, the £100 is shared equally between the tied managers.
- The winner must be an approved participant with an activated official team and must not be disqualified.
- Season titles are also awarded for the overall table and for each of the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup tables; titles carry no monetary value and ties are shared.
- Gameweek medals (gameweek winner and top scout) and any prize awarded for a gameweek go only to teams that used three or fewer transfers in that gameweek.
- No other cash prizes are offered this season. Future seasons may operate under different entry and prize arrangements.
Tied positions and shared prizes
- Teams finishing on the same score share the same displayed rank and are recognised as joint finishers.
- Standard skipped ranking is used: two teams tied for first are both 1st and the next team is 3rd.
- No performance tie-breaker separates tied teams — not goals, assists, weekly points, entry time, activation time, alphabetical order or random selection.
- Where a tied group occupies several prize positions, the prizes for those positions are pooled and shared equally between the tied teams.
- Two teams tied for first share the first and second prize entitlement equally; three teams tied for second share the second, third and fourth entitlement equally.
- Two teams tied for the last prize position share only that remaining prize. No extra prize position is ever created.
- Every joint winner appears in the Hall of Fame and on each manager's history with the shared rank.
- A sponsor prize that cannot literally be divided may be fulfilled with duplicates, equal-value alternatives, a divided package of approximately equal value or a sponsor-approved equivalent. The administrator's published fulfilment decision is final.
Administrator decisions
- Statistics, assists, match outcomes, scoring corrections, player eligibility, fixture rulings, prize fulfilment and technical disputes are determined by the administrator.
- Managers may report an apparent error, a scoring question, a transfer issue, a safety or privacy concern or an account appeal using the in-app feedback form.
- The administrator reviews the relevant evidence before publishing a final decision, and that decision is final for Fantasy Football Club purposes.
- Final decisions are recorded in the audit log. Private administrator notes are not published.
Postponed, abandoned and replayed matches
- Postponed before kickoff: no points from the original date. The rearranged match is the eligible fixture and its official scheduled kickoff sets the roster and ownership deadline.
- Delayed kickoff only: the original scheduled kickoff remains the deadline, transfers do not reopen and the applicable ownership snapshot does not change.
- Suspended and later resumed from the existing match state: both portions are treated as one fixture and every valid event counts.
- Abandoned and replayed from the beginning: the abandoned match is void, any published points are reversed, and only the replay counts.
- A completed fixture ordered to be replayed: the original points are voided and the replay becomes the eligible fixture.
- A result awarded without a match being played produces no player points, because no player performance occurred.
- A cancelled fixture that is not replayed awards no points.
- Unusual or unclear official statuses go to administrator review; incomplete or speculative scoring is never published.
Players changing or leaving clubs
- Club changes are effective-dated. Points earned from fixtures that kicked off before the change remain valid.
- A player moving between Premier League clubs stays selectable and their new club is used for all future club-slot checks.
- Where a real-world move breaks your club restrictions, your team stays visible and active, but every player inside the violated group stops scoring.
- Example: your Arsenal defender joins Liverpool where you already own a defender — both Liverpool defensive-group players score nothing until the team is legal again.
- Your other legal players keep scoring normally, and no player is ever removed, replaced or chosen for you.
- Conflicting players score zero from the effective timestamp until your squad is legal again. Missed points are never restored retrospectively.
- Correcting the conflict uses the normal transfer process and your existing transfer allowance, or the pre-season free changes if the season has not started.
- A player who leaves the Premier League stays in your team with an ineligible status, keeps their historical points, scores nothing further and cannot be transferred in by anyone.
- A player who becomes eligible again is selectable from the confirmed effective timestamp, with no retrospective points.
Assists
- At most one assist is awarded for each goal.
- A direct pass, cross or touch that supplies the goalscorer may be awarded an assist.
- A forced deflection or forced error may be awarded an assist where the attacking action directly created the goal and the defending team never gained clear controlled possession.
- A shot saved, blocked or off the woodwork that a teammate scores from the rebound may be awarded an assist.
- An attacking action that directly forces an own goal may be awarded an assist.
- A player never assists their own goal — including a penalty they won themselves and their own rebound.
- An assist is never awarded to a player from the team that conceded the goal.
- Where the defending team gains controlled possession and a new phase of play begins, no assist is awarded.
- Borderline cases are decided by the administrator with a recorded reason, and corrections are republished atomically across statistics, team points and leaderboards.
Mini-leagues
- Mini-leagues always use each member team's complete official season score. There is no custom start date and no partial-season scoring.
- Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and total points are shown using the same published scores as the official leaderboard. Chairs cannot change points.
- Mini-leagues can be created and joined at any time during the season. Every league uses each member team's full official season score. The chair can close entry at any time, and can remove teams.
- A chair may remove a member team. Removal affects that league's standings only — never the team, its official points or its other leagues — and is recorded in league history.
- A manager may leave a league after confirming. A team that leaves after the season starts cannot rejoin, because membership is closed.
- A chair may transfer the chair role to another active member. A league is never deleted when its chair leaves; where no transfer happened an administrator may appoint a new chair.
- A league with no active members left is archived, never erased. Leagues with members cannot be permanently deleted, only archived, hidden or closed to administration.
- League names, descriptions, join codes and public listings are moderated, and administrators may rename, suspend or archive an inappropriate league.
- Fantasy Football Club does not organise, administer, endorse or accept responsibility for money privately exchanged between mini-league participants.
Technical issues and deadlines
- The server time and the server record are authoritative for the season start, the pre-season free-change deadline, kickoff eligibility, the Thursday ownership lock, mini-league joining, transfer completion and team activation. Your device clock is not.
- A transfer is complete only when the server accepts it, validation succeeds, the roster change is committed and you receive a successful confirmation.
- Selecting a player, seeing a preview, opening the confirmation pop-up, a screenshot or an interrupted request never proves a transfer was made.
- Fantasy Football Club is not responsible for a missed deadline caused by your connection, device, browser, battery, local network, closing the browser before confirmation, or email delays outside our control.
- Where there is reliable evidence of a genuine platform fault, the administrator may correct a timestamp, reverse a duplicate transaction, restore a transfer consumed by a confirmed error, correct a roster or apply another proportionate remedy. Transfers are not ordinarily backdated after a kickoff.
- A technical issue never automatically extends a deadline, reopens the pre-season period, reopens an ownership snapshot, reopens mini-league joining, backdates a transfer or grants retrospective points.
- Make transfers well before kickoff: leaving a change until the final moments risks a delay preventing confirmation in time.
- A registration-only security pause never disables login, transfers, My Team, leaderboards, fixtures, statistics, ownership jobs or match publishing.
